It's been a long time since I have written, but that definitely does not mean my life has not been full of activity.
Shortly after I wrote my first introductory blog post Dominque and I decided to get rid of our Internet. We just don't get good service at our house, and why waste the money if we aren't able to use the internet? We have tried every company who will service our area that we could afford, but no luck! So, that means I must go elsewhere to use the internet.
Malia is already 10 months old and I absolutely LOVE seeing her mature and grow. Her personality is showing through every minute of every day. This morning, as I was getting her dressed, she didn't like the shirt I was trying to put on her. As soon as I would get it over her head, she would pull it off. After several attempts, I went and picked out another shirt. I put the new shirt over her head and she didn't take it off.
We just finished up our spring break and it's rough getting back into the swing of things. We didn't do much at all and it was nice to just relax, sleep in late, and lounge in our pajamas all day! We went on our first family picnic on Friday down in Galveston. We had planned to take her to the beach and let her put her feet in the sand, but the beach was packed and we just didn't want to deal with the crowds. We found a cute little park and had our picnic and let Malia play on the slide. We learned Malia likes pickles! We also took Malia on the ferry and watched her get excited looking at the seagulls.
It's hard to believe that we are already making plans for her first birthday! Malia will be a flower girl in her Aunt Amanda's vow renewal ceremony this weekend. She picked out her flower girl dress herself. Seriously! Dominque and I took her to store and she grabbed this one off the rack. She loves clothes. When I am folding laundry, she likes to pick the clothes up and try to fold them herself. Hopefully, she will continue this as she gets older and help mommy and daddy out!
I know this blog entry has been mostly about Malia. I guess you write about what you spend the most of your time doing and I spend most my time with her! As for me, I have a few things on my to do list that need to get done...getting the items priced and sorted for our fundraising garage sale for our missions trip / summer camp, clean the house, organize and sort the clothing closet at school, lots of paperwork at work, get our taxes done, plan the ladies brunch at church, and the list goes on and on...Guess I need to go get busy working on something.
Until next time,
~Kim
